Making Observations

Once we have the purpose statement of our book and the structural outline of the argument, we now make observations and note them on our chart. These observations should help give a greater insightful idea to the book as a whole.

The goal is to show the interrelation of the parts to the whole of the book as the argument of the book unfolds.

Vertical charts tend to be more word-oriented and you can generally get more description on your chart.
